IT’S POSSIBLE TO FIGHT BACK TO COVID-19, AND THATS EXACTLY WHAT GSOMEM IS DOING!
There is no doubt that Covid-19 is one of the biggest threats of this time. It is crucial for everyone to take as much precautions as possibly can be made. Gaziantep Chamber of Industry Vocational Training Center (GSOMEM) is taking COVID-19 quite seriously since the epidemic is dangerous but we can fight back by taking many precautions.
These precatuions are;
- Hand washing instruction and informative bulletins on the ways of protection from the virus have been hung at several places in the GSOMEM.
- Informative brochures about "hand washing instructions and the ways of virus protection" prepared in Turkish and Arabic were distributed to the trainees.
- Informative trainings are given to trainees at the beginning of courses.
- Contacting surfaces such as table tops, workshops, classrooms and common areas are constantly disinfected.
- Contacting surfaces such as table tops, workshops, classrooms and common areas are frequently cleaned by the janitor personnel.
- Informative trainings are given to the janitor personnel on the use of detergents and disinfectants.
- Closed areas are kept constant at ambient temperature and ventilated periodically.
- Frequently used places and objects such as entrances, elevators, door handles, computers, keyboards, workshops, classrooms, canteens, sinks are disinfected.
- Hand sanitizer was placed at the workshop, classroom, sink..etc.
- Transportation shuttles are constantly disinfected.
- Beneficiaries are using face masks in transportation shuttles when they are coming to training centre.
- Beneficiaries enter the training centre through the disinfectant tunnel.
- Staff measure the fever of beneficiaries at the entrance.
- A waiting room has been prepared for people who show symptoms to wait until the ambulance arrives.
- Floor markings are properly used to maintain physical distancing in canteen, lunch etc.
- Face masks are provided to trainees, trainers and translators at the entrance. Face mask changing points prepared.
- They can change face mask after the lunch time. And one more face mask is also provided to beneficiaries to use in transportation shuttle next day.
- Electric connections of air conditioners are closed. Ventilation should be done by opening the windows.
- Food and drinks are served in rations.
- Lunch are distributed in closed box for each beneficiary.
- Common salt shaker, pepper shaker and napkin holder in the cafeteria were cancelled. Spices, toothpicks, spoons, forks, knives, cups, plates etc. materials are provided as disposable if needed.
- The use of water dispenser has been cancelled. Three plastic cups of water are distributed to per trainee per day.
- Hand sanitizers are be placed at the entry of canteen, and cafeteria.
- Lunch hours will be organised when the number of trainees increased.
- Seating plans were prepared in the classrooms by considering the social distance. Trainees are expected to obey the plan.
It is possible to overcome the though times with the cooperation of GSOMEM team and the beneficiaries! Covid is not stronger than the precautions we make ! : )
